Preventing gender-based violence in school

One of Zonta International’s biennium projects is the Gender Responsive Schools Pilot Model in Vietnam. Partnering with the UN Trust Fund, the program seeks to tackle gender-based violence in and around schools, which is one of the main barriers to girls equality and empowerment.

In the video, UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka visited the historic 105-year-old Chu Van An High School to speak about ending gender-based violence. Ms. Mlambo-Ngcuka urged the roughly 450 students who engaged in the dialogue to know their rights, as well as where to find assistance if they are subjected to or witness violence against women and girls.
